"Galvin Café a Vin is a hidden Gem - Overshadowed by it's big brother La Chapelle, this City eatery may not be as flashy as its neighbour but it's still a class act.

What with all of us reviewers being dazzled by the Galvin bros’ towering achievement, La Chapelle, it’s been easy to overlook this smaller, more modest operation, linked to its snazzy sibling by a narrow aperitivi bar.

In its own understated way, it’s every bit as splendid. The ceilings are lower and the wow factor muted but there’s swankiness here too: a stunning zinc bar liberated from Conran-era Aurora; sleek, dark furnishings; solicitous staff – we’re almost overwhelmed by the wanton distribution of excellent baguette and French butter" more..
