Marylebone restaurants Marylebone restaurants Classic French cooking is synonymous with the Galvin restaurants and Bistrot de Luxe maintains this ethos. So it’s always exciting when you hear, that what many would say to be the best restaurant in Marylebone, has a new menu. Bistrot is known for its use of the finest seasonal produce and ingredients, head chef Tom Duffill has created a reassuringly unpretentious menu which reaffirm it as a Marylebone restaurant destination. To underline Tom’s keeping with the classic Bistrot feel and add a little every day luxury to the Marylebone restaurant scene, this Menu Gourmand is four courses with an aperitif for just £25.

Dishes like the sweet winter pumpkin and mushroom fricassée with toasted seeds and the low cooked Cumbrian Belted Galloway beef with herb persillade, caramelised cauliflower & sweet onions are the perfect addition to a winter menu. Or if you are looking for a slightly more indulgent treat the whipped goat’s curd with candied walnuts and Merlot, is something that not many could turn down. Finally the icing on the cake, so to speak, Paris Brest ‘de Luxe’, this delicious dessert may have been created to commemorate the Paris-Brest-Paris bicycle race, but the Bistrot’s version is not something you would want to race through, this is for savouring. This menu is perfectly created for a sit-down meal on a special occasion, making this a great choice when looking for a restaurant with a private room in Marylebone. Speaking of which, Le Cellar – our private dining space at Bistrot – received a number of improvements recently, building on its already-alluring seclusion to make something which is not just a great private dining space but also an excellent cocktail bar in its own right. Tucked below the restaurant on the lower ground floor, it is accessed by a subtle curtained stairwell which adds to the sense of entering into a world of your own when dining. With space for up to 22 seated, it is an intimate and secluded place which manages to evoke both complete modernity and bygone age – just like its big brother the restaurant upstairs. Subtle lighting and expert use of mirrors gives Le Cellar a deceptive spaciousness while the antiqued herringbone parquet floor evokes a little of the private gentleman’s club of old - and we think ranks it among the top private dining rooms in Marylebone.

It is always great to receive feedback from diners, such as the below from Tripadvisor:
"Amazing meal!”

My partner and I visited on 15th February with another couple. This is the second time eating here as the 4/5 course menus with wine pairing are really good value for money.

We ordered extra courses in between as we were told that the portion sizes were very small. This wasn't the case this night, and we actually left really full up and happy!

One of the courses was goats cheese, which I didn't like the taste of. I didn't complain but the waitress noticed I didn't eat it, so brought me over a complimentary plate with cheese, biscuits, grapes and chutney. This was really thoughtful and appreciated. I wish I had asked the waitress for her name so I could mention her, as she was lovely and helpful all evening.

We will definitely visit again when the next tasting menu is available.

Also if in doubt what to order, have the Dorset crab lasagne- AMAZING!!!

"Absolutely amazing every single time!”
