A Word on Wine: California Dreamin’

Posted: 08/09/2015 in La Chapelle
It's all about California this September and October, have a look at the best this sunny state has to offer:

14 September - Totally Quackers! Ducky Delights at Bistrot de Luxe
We are not taking ourselves too seriously on this one – we’ve had fun matching a selection of Duckhorn wines with a variety of ducky delights. This one is hosted by Brian Bostwick – super guy and an engaging host for this wine even in London.

14 September – Cheese & California Wine Tasting at Café a Vin
A lovely little collaboration between two great suppliers, Roberson will be bringing the wine (all from California) and Androuet the cheese. You just have to bring yourself!

20 October – A Modern Classic and Much More: Pahlmeyer Wine Dinner at La Chapelle
Jason Pahlmeyer’s eponymous vineyard in the Napa Valley is best known for its Proprietary Red which has become an bit of an icon and rightfully so, it is everything I love about the wine of California in a glass – a modern classic. We’ll taste two vintages of this wine and much more besides on October 20th.

Wines by the Glass

If wine dinners aren’t your thing, and I know they aren’t everyone’s carafe of vin then you’ll still be able to taste some of the best wines California has to offer by the glass at Bistrot, La Chapelle and Café a Vin. Look out for selections from Wine Treasury, Roberson and Kutch and Corison.

I spend my time between the three restaurants, if you see me around please feel free to ask me for a recommendation or two. If I don’t happen to be there do not despair – I do regular training sessions with the team and I’ll be making sure they are all as knowledgeable as can be on these brilliant wines.
