Two weeks into September and there’s lots of excitement at the Green Man Galvin Restaurants
The cellar is ready to be stocked with a great selection of beers while our staff are being trained on an extensive cellar course, provided by Adnams Brewery in Southwold (somebody’s got to do it!).
The kitchen floors, walls & ceilings are all fitted and ready to receive the chef’s stoves & ovens. Our 1.5 ton wood oven has been delivered and caused great excitement with head chef Jack Boast.
A lot of progress has been made on the communal room, which is really coming together.
Chris Galvin commented: "I really look forward to seeing groups of friends or family sharing moments & creating memories at the Green Man while enjoying some nice food & drinks.”
The fireplaces have been installed and the chimney sweeper has made a visit. We will be ready to welcome our guests with a roaring fire when Autumn begins to close in.
Our four private rooms on the first floor are looking beautiful. The canvas is nearly ready for our partners – Adnams Southwold, Marriage’s Millers, Essex County Cricket Club, Countryside Properties – to create bespoke rooms. The rooms, which hold up to 10 guests, will be perfect for different occasions such as business meetings, family Sunday lunches, birthday celebrations and much more…
Here are a few photos of The Green man in progress.
While the Green Man is taking shape, we are taking bookings now for our dining room, family rooms, Christmas & NYE from 7 November.
We look forward to welcoming you soon in Howe Street!
