The Green Man

The Galvin Green Man pub is a return home for Essex-born Chris & Jeff Galvin. Set in 1.5 acres of riverside meadow amidst beautiful countryside with the river Chelmer as a companion, The Green Man is one of the oldest pubs in Essex - having been built in 1481. A sympathetic refurbishment is underway and internally the pub will consist of two main parts – a dining room and a Great British pub. Working with local-sourced seasonal ingredients, the menu will concentrate on classic pub dishes of the highest quality created by Galvin protégés while the bar will serve craft ales with a strong emphasis on working in partnership with local craft brewers. The Green Man will host four private dining rooms, for up to 16 guests, in partnership with local business’ in the Chelmsford area.
